Dear Members of the family of Maybelle Durkin,
I wish to share my deepest sympathy with you at this time of great loss. I knew Maybelle many years ago as a member of the Canadian Home and School Board of Directors.
Maybelle was a very caring, understanding and brilliant spokesperson over so many years for the Home and School movement in Canada. Thanks to her numerous initiatives and deep concern for the education and welfare of Canadian youth much has been accomplished in support of our Canadian children, parents and teachers.
I will particularly cherish her wisdom and determination, especially in times of organizational difficulties, to place the needs of children first and foremost, and always above her own needs.
She always spoke so highly and lovingly of her family!
May she rest in peace! With prayerful thoughts!
Tom Wilkinson, Past President (1978-80

Anne, Graeme, and Alison, We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother and our dear Aunt. We will miss receiving her Christmas cards every year and it was so great to have her at our wedding. We have not had an opportunity to spend much time with your family over the years, but I know that my dad looked up to your mother with great respect and love. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless! Keith and Carren

Dear Family Members,
My sincere condolences to you at this sad time. I met Maybelle many years ago (mid 80's) at a Canadian Home and School meeting being held in PEI. She was kind, welcoming and helpful to all who were new to Home & School. She was very knowledgable about educational issues/topics and highly respected around the meeting table. Her untiring work and volunteer effort for the Home and School movement in Canada was exceptional.
We attended church together at Zion Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown and she remarked how the building reminded her of her home church. I have fond memories of our conversations during meetings and other shared events.
You will miss a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
Love, Prayers and Blessings to you all.
